***Please note*** This listing is a work in progress
thanks to Gerald Jury, Jureina's nephew.  Gerald has
sent some photos and a poster of JUREINA THE
GREAT RENOWNED MAGICIAN AND HAND-CUFF
KING.
From what we understand so far,  Jureina (Russell
Jury), was a popular Canadian magician at the turn of
the century.
The poster Gerald provided has performances for 4
weeks in Montreal, 4 weeks in Toronto, 3 weeks in
Winnipeg and 3 weeks in Vancouver.
The photos we have of Jureina as a child indicate they
were taken in Charlottetown P.E.I..
We are currently working with Gerald to get more
information about this unique performer and as
information becomes available, I will update this
listing.  Perle, (Jureina's sister) understood that Jureina
went on the road in his mid 20's when he died with the
bad flu of 1919 (during the plague).  There was a scrap
book with press clippings and Theatre owner letters of
thanks which has gone missing.***
